FALL PRAYER LETTER – October 1, 2009
Dear Faithful Ministry Supporters,
Psalm 27:13 states, “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” We indeed praise the Lord for His goodness to us especially these months since our last prayer letter.
July through September proved to be busy in the work of the Lord. The schedule was as follows:
July 5, 12, 19, 26 & Aug. 2 – pulpit supply at Fairview Bible Church. (Lewistown, PA)
August 9 – Grace Bible Chapel – pulpit supply. (York Springs, PA)
August 16 & 23 – Fairview Bible Church – pulpit supply.
August 30 – Berean Bible Church (Pottstown, PA) – preached in A.M. [where Clarence Didden used to pastor]
September 13, 20, & 27 – Fairview Bible Church – pulpit supply.
On one of the Sundays in September it was my privilege to baptize a teenage young man who attends Fairview Bible Church in the Juniata River not far from the church and the same afternoon see one of the ladies in the church sky dive from a two mile altitude as a desired “present” for her 70th birthday! Joyce continues to minister on the organ at Grace Bible Chapel. Fairview Bible Church is almost a two hour drive from home so I leave early on Sunday mornings and arrive home late Sunday night when filling in there. Joyce has about a 25 minute drive to “GBC”. It does make a long day for us not to be “at church” together but it is too difficult on Joyce for her do the long days that I do. We are very grateful that we can serve the Lord in His work as we do.
At present the fall schedule looks like this:
Oct. 4 & 11 – Fairview Bible Church (pulpit supply). Lewistown, PA.
Oct. 10 – Way of Truth Board meeting (Mifflintown, PA)
Oct. 14 – leave for S. Waterboro, ME.
Oct. 16-18 – Calvary Hill Baptist Church (speak at annual missions conf.) - Wilton, ME.
Oct. 19 – return to S. Waterboro, ME.
Oct. 21 – leave for Nova Scotia, Canada
Oct. 25 – speak at Fundamental Bible Church, Wallace, Nova Scotia
Oct. 28 – return to S. Waterboro, ME.
Nov. 1 – speak at South Gardiner Baptist Church, South Gardiner, ME.
Nov. 3 – return home to PA.
Nov. 7 – Halifax, PA – participate in “God and County Rally” for veterans.
Nov. 8, 15, 22 & 29; also Dec.6, 13, 20, & 27 – pulpit supply at Fairview Bible Church.
Prayer requests: As you can see we have a very busy schedule ahead of us. Please pray for continued good health. Joyce will be going with me to Maine and Nova Scotia. She will be able to stay at our son’s in S. Waterboro while I go to the ministries in other parts of Maine. Pray that she will take the trip well health-wise. Pray for safety in travel. Pray much for effectiveness in our ministry…that we may glorify Christ. Please continue to pray for financial needs. Our ministry income and support remains very low. We are always very grateful for those who support us financially. But we can do nothing without prayer!!! Again we are very grateful for those who hold us up before the Lord. May the Lord bless each of you abundantly for doing so. And as always we praise the Lord for our home church, Emmanuel Baptist in Mechanicsburg, PA that faithfully stands behind us in our ministry.
